I Can Do That

OH...We can do that ourselves!

This is for all my fellow junkers, crafters, painters, ect.... How many times have you been at a craft fair or sellin' venue and someone was said "We can do that ourselves"??? When I first started and was doing craft fairs with my good friend Melinda we heard this all the time!! It used to kinda upset me but now I just think to myself "GO FOR IT"!!!!! So.... this is for all those people who can do it themselves.... well and for y'all too!

The truth is....YES they probably could paint it or make it at home. Lets face it, painting is not brain surgery BUT.....

....it is also NOT sittin' on the couch eatin' bonbons!

Not only do you have to go find the furniture, clean it, and in this case scrape and scrape.

Let me take this brief moment to say THIS IS NOT A FASHION BLOG!!!

Okay back to our regular programming......On this table alone, I broke a nail, burnt two spots on my leg with paint stripper and said a few things I was glad my little children could not hear! So as I said before IT IS NOT BRAIN SURGERY BUT IT IS A TON OF WORK!

So next time you are admiring some one's hard work please think before you speak!

Woo Hoo! I am done y'all

(Again THIS IS NOT A FASHION BLOG)

Baby Gift Idea

Great Baby Gift!!

Soooo...the other day I was browsin' through one of my favorite blogs "HOLY CRAFT". I love it!!! She is a super talented gal! Anywho, I came across her blogging about a baby shower which lead me to her making the cutest onesies as a shower gift. I was inspired!!( And it was perfect timing because my brother and sister-in-law just added a new addition.) I of course had to put my own personal spin on H.C. gal's idea....she went with the "month" theme which was adorable but after I did the first one I got to thinking of all the possibilities.........

My "month" onesie, which I think is cute but I had to go a little further.

Since Sunshine was born in September she would be needing a Halloween shirt next month!

Who doesn't need a bling'd out Christmas tree on their shirt??

A few other styles

I picked up three packages of onesies in sizes 0-3months to 6-12 months. Everyone always gets a ton of newborn clothes at the shower so I thought it was a great idea to extend the sizes for a full year gift!

She had to have one with her name!!

Then I found a cute little photo box that I had bought last "day after Thanksgiving"sale....which was perfect if I do say so!

Lined it with tissue paper

Then folded the onesies and put them in then photo box....they fit perfect!

Thanks HOLY CRAFT for the idea! I hope my sister-in-law likes it as much as I did!

We mean ANYTHING!!

Leave it someone that I know to bring me something CRAZY like a rusty old (but totally cool) refrigerator door. A good ole gal I know brought this to me to paint so that she would have something to hang her children's artwork/school work since all her appliances are stainless steel and magnets will not stick. (Great idea BTW) Thankfully I was not at home when she dropped it off, so I didn't have to put on my professional face while inside thinking "what in the world am I going to do with that!!"

Soooo...first things first.....regular primer was NOT going to cut it this time. Off to the automotive store I went to pick up a can of filling primer (helps fill where the rust has eaten holes in the metal)

A lovely smooth coat of grey car primer

Then we went with a brownish-orangish color which turned out to be WAY TO BRIGHT!! So I decided I would dust it with a decent coat of chocolate brown.

(Up Close)

So much better!!

Then came the "TIGER" stripes. (It is for boys so we can not go zebra because everybody knows zebra is for girls and tigers are for boys!!)

Finished "door"............I must say I do love it!!
